Buying instant traffic? is it worth it?

Hi, I'm new to the forum here and find it very helpful! This is my first post...

I recently bought some traffic from a few sites to give it a try.. I tried two companys, one was £20 ($40avg) for 10.000 pop unders with extras and one was £5 ($10avg) for a further 10.000 pop unders. I got the hits but no adsense clicks or product sales, whats everyones thoughts and experiences with these kind of companys?

    Cheers!

Probably the traffic wasn't targeted to your niche because of which you didn't get much clicks and sales. I think most of the time purchased traffic is of no use to sites when it is untargeted.

Those programs never give you results, plus most of these companies are using proxies to send you fake traffic.

You can easilly realize that by adding some js counter to the landing page.

I have used about $100 to experiment with this kind of promotion, and guess what....

    Alright tops,

I purchased them off ebay as they were alot cheaper than companys advertising in mags (maybe that was the problem?), I dont think they really work like Nik mentioned, seemed like proxie work to me and to many unique visits. I did use a .ws counter to, be careful if your going to give it a shot. Could really effect google rankings too I've seen people talk about.

Some offer website submission which you can do free with submit express and also domain appraisals which I really dont know much about at the minute.

$100 is alot, but worth trying.. all experience eh

$100 is not a lot to be sure if something works ;)

    Hi,

I suggest not to waste your money to purchase Hits. I have tried many sites recently. as you mentioned I got only hits and no signups. I strongly believe those hits are not from human visitors.

    Regards,
    Amy.

I agree. Most, if not all of those hits are probably from bots.

There are so many other ways to spend your money. For example, you could try starting a PPC campaign with Google AdWords or some other company.

I don't think buying traffic helps. Unless that traffic is very targetted, you will most likely not get any conversions. Plus, it is very short term. I would rather spend my money on other link building tactics that will help my site in the long run.

    question:
when you visit a site that has pop ups/unders,do you click on or visit the sites thats in the popup?
    no?
    neither do i.:)
buying pop unders is a waste of the advertising dollar, more so when you buy it off ebay

Good point. Plus, you don't know anything about their other clients.

For all you know, you could be advertising side by side with a bunch of illegal sites, which certainly isn't good for your site's reputation and credibility.

Do you trust sites that use pop-up/under advertising? I don't.

I haven't tried instant hit type things, I was considering it at one stage but from what I've read it isn't going to help with sales, adsense clicks etc. So if anything.. I'd reccomend text & banner advertising, atleast you know people are visiting non forcefully.

Also, I hate pop-up/unders.. Like Zodiac said, do you click on the ads? I have.. but it was an accident of frequent clicking of wanting to exit them.

Buying traffic is a waste of money unless you want to fool someone 6 months down the track and have proof you have a site with 1000 uniques per day.

There will not be sales of product or adsense income from this type of traffic.

    Hope this helps.

    Col :)

I purchased traffic from BuyCheapTraffic or whatever that site's called... I got the hits but that's about it. I figured it was probably bots but no biggie... it cost like $10.00 or something for a ton of hits so I tried it just to try it...now I know better! ;)

From my experience most of the traffic you will get will be from automated proxys.

Such traffic are temporary, don't be excited!, it won't last longer, also traffic are not equal sales, so concentrate on targeted traffic and retaining visitors so on conversion rate.
