Guest posting and Forum commenting is what I have used for the last 3 weeks, and id does not seem to get me anywhere. I still have a PR0 on my website and as far as Alexa ranking goes, i am way back. I do not get it, how much should you comment on forums to get a decent Google page rank?

 

keep doing directory submission link exchange press releases, bookmarking, bolg posting and do some SMO.

There are some other rules too for building links to your site.

suppose, you are targeting UK people and you need to build links on uk extension then, you need to know foot prints of directories, forums, social bookmarking

and in Google

site:.co.uk + "foot print"

it would help a lot in building relevant links.

Link building is one of the best method to get back links. There are several effective method of link building.

 

In whatever link building you do, just dont look like your spamming and you should be fine.

Example: Hey check out this awesome site I check out here*link*
Good example: Hey, I know everyones all mad about that. Guess what though, I go here more often *link*

You can have a general sense of what spam looks like, and what isnt.

I recommend you to start guest posting. It can give you lots of direct traffic and the best quality backlinks that exists. Besides guest posting, create backlinks posting articles on article directories, submitting your sites to web directories and commenting on other people blogs...

If you want to get lots of backlinks and traffic create quality posts and you will get those backlinks effortless and creat some posts with lists, post with lists attract a lot of backlinks and traffic, but again you need to put some effort and create high quality posts for this.

I say don't swap links, don't overdo article marketing - these are extremely unethical, although the latter (articles) one can be done, just don't exaggerate.

Getting authority links, embedded contextual editorial links is extremely effective - of course, you need to get links naturally!
