So your website is all set up and running, however there isn’t any visitors coming to see your new site! Setting the website up was pretty simple and when you were in the middle of setting it up you envisioned lots of traffic coming to your website, but you never relay though it threw on how you planed on people to find your site. Traffic to your website is not enough, “It Needs To Be Targeted Traffic†your visitors have to be interested in what your website is offering. Traffic & Conversions†If you master them, you will be rewarded for life and this skill is more valuable then a college degree and the best part there is no loan to pay back. This is what it’s all about and how you become successful online! Traffic & conversions is where you earn your degree and it’s not until you master these principles that your online experience start’s to change along with your bank account. I would have to say the very first thing you are going to need to know would be where your traffic is coming from. Understanding & Monitoring the source of your traffic is key to increasing your sales. Monitoring traffic sources is not enough. You have to truly understand why certain sources are outperforming others and how you can optimize those that are under-performing. Keywords Understanding your top performing ‘keywords’ that are driving visitors coming from the organic search should be a number one priority. Then understanding secondary ‘keywords’ that driving less volume and ways you can optimize your website for these keywords as well. Use tools from SEOBook or similar services to monitor your current rankings, uncover additional opportunities, and track your progress. You must clearly define the actions that you would like your visitors to take. This sounds easy,Right? Then why is it so many websites do not lead their visitors to take there desired actions. Your landing page’s and every element of your website should focus on specific actions that you want your visitors to take and work together in perfect harmony to walk your visitor to take that specific action. Lead your visitors down one single path and do not ask them to take multiple actions. I have seen so many sites landing pages that include a trial sign-up form, links to sign up for the company’s email newsletter and links to the company’s social media profiles. If you have created a targeted landing page for a campaign, keep the desired action front-and-center, and do not offer multiple conversion paths. Whether it’s signing up for an email newsletter, downloading a piece of content, or signing up for a trial of your software be sure that all elements including headlines, copy, and images support this goal and be sure to only provide a single option for converting instead of distracting the visitor with multiple paths. Best of Luck
Thanks for sharing. The best thing to do is know your goal in order to make an excellent campaign on how to reach the goal of increasing traffic as well as making conversion into your product or services.
To get targeted traffic, you must understand your niche well so that you can connect it with the best source of traffic for that niche. This way, conversion will follow smoothly.
This is great... I would add that target traffic is the key. I see so many people waist money on traffic that is not targeted... then wonder why it doesn't convert!
Thanks for the share, from my experience traffic is the life blood of any business be it online or off. How conversions happen on your site is the stream of which they came from. Be it youtube or other web 2.0 properties. High conversions come from content (content is king). By saying this I don't mean just any content, you need content to build rapport with your reader and have a product which blends (presell) with what your trying to convey in your message. Cheers,
great information. Its good to see people on here actually sharing and helping others. So many offer little or no help. Thanks
Efficient Team work always assures better performance as compared to individual efforts. All the factors discussed above would indeed prove very helpful for all of us.
Yes the most basic thing to do is to get a website hooked up with Google Analytics right away. It is a good applications to monitor every aspects of your website. Then the next thing is to try bringing customers to your website via various channels such as Google Adwords or Facebook Ads. Also, engage in SEO is also a good way to get natural and free traffic to your site.
Thanks for the thread, I agree with you on this topic. One of the things that I was taught by my mentor, is not to give to many options to people when they visit your squeeze page, landing page, etc. The idea is to make things simple for the visitor in order to get their e-mail addresses in exchange for a free gift of yours. In other words we need to stop been clever with our visitors, if we offer to many paths or choices to our visitors, we probably are going end up loosing them at some point, give one choice only, and make a call to action, tell them what you want. I hope that helps a little bit.
In addition to the suggestions others have posted, I would also...- get your website into the social media outlets Facebook, Twitter, etc.- Set up a tag cloud
For me it's all about the content. We make sure that we provide our users with informative, high quality articles. The articles are optimized with our target keywords of course and so far this has worked well. Providing your users with good content helps build trust which helps increase conversions. Hope that helps. Have a goo day!
Superb writing mate. I do agree with you. And its not all about content. Its about how your content gets the reader to take an action. In my opinion that is the hardest part.
The key is not just in getting traffic, but targeted traffic. If you get 1000 random visitors to your site per week then that's fine, however, if it's highly targeted then, these are normally people who have a card in their hand ready to buy something and that makes such a difference. The two key areas of IM for me is targeted traffic and an solid email list.
targeted traffic is the only way to make any sales if you want to be successful in internet marketing
You're spot on and the mistake people tend to make in this business is in thinking that, traffic on it's own is fine and whilst it's good to get 2000 or 3000 random visitors to your site a month, the real meat and potatoes is in highly targeted traffic. Do your keyword research and create pages on your site about each product making sure the competition is low and always have a sign up form allowing you to build your list at the same time for future promotions.
