Most likely. You have 121k worth of scripts on there. Not much, size-wise, but remember all that has to be retrieved and compiled before execution. And what's up with that giant CSS file?

    Short Answer
    1. Get rid of empty pages
    2. Clean up your Code
    3. Look at your home directory to see if you have old files you forgot to delete.

    Long Answer
I noticed some of your pages are empty. Lets focus on your businesses page. Personally i would start by getting rid of pages like this until you have content for them. I know it won't speed it up much but there is no point having it there until you have something. you could even replace these pages with a contact forum ( you only need one form).

After you have done this put your website through a code cleaning program. If you designed your website through Dreamweaver, it has a feature already there.

Chances are you have some old or unused scripts/files/images in your home directory. Anything that isn't related to your website that is on your home directory should be taken off.

Hope this helps. Let me know..

First off, godaddy sucks. The web server takes a full second to establish a connection with the MYSQL server.

Waaay too many separate connections for too many different javascript files ( 41 different files) .js some can be eliminated perhaps, or most can be combined into one file.

    More detailed analysis here http://www.webpagetest.org/result/120910_1T_9S/

haha like the comment about Godaddy, they always seemed a bit slow to me. I think if I eliminate some of the plugins that use Java, thought will speed things up, I think currently we are overlapping plugins when one might be able to combine are needs into one. I appreciate it. I like the speed test site you used, i was showing a load time of of just about 27 seconds to load, probably something to do with my ISP. Again thank you, I will do some more research and elimination work.

How many plugins are you using? Too many might be slowing it down also.

It is always better to make your homepage light weight so that visitors will like to go back to your site. I have check your website on websiteoptimization.com and your website has a lot of warning. You can try websiteoptimization.com and check the Analysis and Recommendations at the bottom to make your website load faster.

Short answer: your problem is Godaddy's hosting. You're likely using shared hosting and Godaddy overloads their shared servers which is how they are able to afford to offer hosting at such a low price.

    Your site: (Godaddy)
    Time-to-first-byte: 6.085 seconds
    Time-to-completion: 17.192 seconds
    Page size: 612.49 KB

My site: (My own hosting @ about $8 / month)
    Time-to-first-byte: 0.427 seconds
    Time-to-completion: 0.937 seconds
    Page size: 415.43 KB

Granted, your page size is a little larger, but that doesn't make up for the discrepancy. Time-to-first-byte = "It is the duration from the virtual user making an HTTP request to the first byte of the page being received by the browser." Basically, this is how long it takes to START loading the page from the server. And time-to-completion is how long the page takes to load after the connection has been made. Godaddy's shared hosting is one of the slowest around.

Also, in case you're not aware, look into using a caching plugin. These plugins generate a static version of your page to reduce processing of server scripts.

It doesn't seem to be extremely slow, but it could benefit from a little bit of tweaking.

    1. Get Firefox, and install the Firebug and YSlow extensions, then use YSlow to analize your page speed. It will tell you exactly what has to be done about it.

    2. Although your site isn't that heavy in images, you can still use something like SmushIt to optimize the images (without losing quality).

Other than that, I don't think you should worry about anything.

You need to check yourself. Check the page size of each page and use Ajax for low downtime.

Debating switching to HostGator again, don't recall why I got away from them. I feel Godaddy may have something to do with it along with some other things as far as the heavy CSS and scripts. Does anybody think I need anything more powerful than a shared plan?
