Hey all, I've tried creating sites in the past and that's worked out fine I know how to do that, but I can never get any customers to them in sufficient numbers. The truth is, as the thread indicates, I suck at marketing. Always have, always will. It's just instinct. I can't sell myself to potential employers, I can't get customers at my job to take a FREE no strings attached program we offer, I SUCK. What's more important is that I HATE it. I have no problem with it being done or moral objection to it (so don't be offended) I just don't get any enjoyment out of it at all. Now creating a website or a product, THAT I enjoy. All the problem solving that goes into it, the creativity that goes in to shaping a product I find genuinely satisfying and am thus motivated to do it. So I decided, why fight it? Having accepted all this, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any options for me. I've heard of services online where you can post web related jobs to independent contractors, but have no idea what those services are called or where to find them. (I do know about the section in this forum tho) I have no problem paying for the service, I've never been a cheap guy, I just suck at marketing. LOL. Any other options that could be presented would be appreciated. Also, if you're good at web marketing drop me a line in the thread or a PM. I don't have a site at present because why build it if no one's gonna come to it? But I can make one if I have someone who can help get people to the front door. Thanks for your time, H²
Well, you simply try. And fail. And then try again, over and over. It will take time, it won't be easy, but it can be done. So go follow some good marketing blogs (ViperChill, ThinkTraffic, etc.), start building an audience, and eventually you will get good at it. There's no better advice than this because someone simply can not teach you how to become a master at marketing, you just try and try and when you are close to quitting you try again, and someday you will succeed. The more work you put into it = The better the results. So go work on it.
you keep trying be persistant. Failure is another way of saying your learning. If you give up, you wont know your true potential.
You suck at marketing? Then hire a good one. The big boys in the industry are not really good in marketing, they hire someone to that stuff with them. Instead of focusing on your weakness, focus on your strength. Hire someone that smarter than you.
We all have our own weaknesses. If you suck at marketing but can create products and sites, then go ahead create your product and you site, then have someone good in marketing handle the marketing side of it for you. I know DP has a section here in the forums where members can advertise services they need or services they offer, try look for that section. Someone good in SEO and marketing may have posted an ad there. Other options are oDesk, eLance and Freelancer.com. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Marketing is always hard because you need learn from the mistake and learn from the success business how they able to make it . As a startup , usually is hard for you to hire some internet marketer to help you up due to the income so you need hunt for the some tools and system that allow you to just follow and your marketing might getting improve with that. email marketing got email marketing tools, seo got seo tools to help you up . Its not hard to find those services while half of the users here is selling the those marketing services.
Fake it till you make it. I don't mean scam but you need to develop a persona thats a sales person. To do this you must practice, talk to yourself, Talk to strangers,Learns what people want. If you cant do it in front of people then start behind the computer screen. Trust me I'm the shyest person, I couldnt sell free money at a gas station if it came down to me just talking, But when I become person number 2 I can sell green to a plant. So don't just say you cant because you certainly can sir.
Biggest factors I realized about marketing: 1) Business does not explode from a day or two of work, considering all the knowledge you need to learn beforehand, setting up sites etc. 2) In addition to applying long term work... think out of the box, and you CAN exponentiate your success.
Why not build a list and focus on money making part? Maybe I can help you with that. This all you need: 1. Converting landing page and thank you page 2.
