I took a couple of courses but ended up learning most of what I know by practicing on my own. Books, YouTube, Sitepoint.com, and psd.tutsplus.com are the places I like to go to learn more about Photoshop.

    Hi All!

I actually learned photoshop at uni, but funnily enough, I already knew most of the things they taught from just messing about in highschool. University and structured education places mainly teach best practices, i.e. industry standards. For those of you in the know, there are quite a number of ways to do the same thing in the whole adobe suite, some are just faster/more efficient than others.

New things are happening in the world of design everyday, so no matter when/where you learned it, you'll have to continue doing tutorials to keep yourself up to date. Linda do a great series of tutorials and seem to release one every time something new is brought to market. Quite intensive at the advanced end, but definitely worthwhile.

I learned using several methods. First, I read a book about Photography which had a Photoshop section in it. Then, I got hooked up and started looking for more information and online lessons. Of course YouTube was a great helper. And after studying by myself for more than a year, I took a Design class at my university.

Best way learn Photoshop through online tutorials or experimentation. Because, It's always a good idea to start with a basic course, move to the middling course before the advanced course.

I learnt in college but the content was very poor, however it gave me a good enough start to learn the rest myself along with some very good hosted tutorials

I learned about photoshop when I first worked in a studio, in the studio, I was trained on how to use photoshop for editing pictures. I also can design ebook covers by using photoshop.

Tons and tons of tutorials that I found online. Literally hundreds. Also, I put PS on my laptop and just learned from doing. All it takes is experimenting and practice to get better.

I started off by just playing around on it and seeing what I could do because my brother was amazing on it! Then i started to buy step-by-step magazines, then realised that there was loads of free tutorials on the internet! About a year later I got a job working for a Photographer as his 'creative digital manipulator' haha :)
