Australian Webmaster Forums Launched

    www.australianwebmaster.com

Today marks the exciting launch of a brand new community, the Australian Webmaster forums. The site is the first of it's kind, a webmaster discussion forum specifically targetting site owners and developers based in Australia.

The main topics will cover details relevant to managing a site in Australia, such as ABN's, Australian affiliate programs and much more. While the site is naturally geared towards an Australian audience, any members around the globe are welcomed to join in if they wish to do so.

The community is still very new and is still very much open for constructive criticism. We have a 'Feedback' forum specifically for your ideas and suggestions for the site but we are also open to hearing your comments here. We have already added the 'Quick Reply' to phpBB due to popular demand and should have some more stuff added regularly. You can also expect a few competitions and articles/tutorials to appear in the near future.

I appreciate your time in reading this and hope that you will consider joining our community. While it is still relatively bare, it has already received a lot of praise amongst some Australian webmasters, and we hope that many other Australian webmasters out there will stand up and join up too.

    Kind Regards,

    James Rayers

It is hard to review a forum, since there are all the same.
    But your color is nice.
I always see green in the Australian Site. Is green the color of Australia?

Green and Gold are the 'official' colours of Australia. These two colours are being implemented into the vBulletin design I am working on for an upgrade in the next few weeks.

Looks nice and simple. I'll probably sign up and participate after work tomorrow. Very good concept, I'd love to see this forum succeed.

Just another quick announcement to let everyone know that we have now updated the forum to vBulletin and given it a brand new skin. We will start a new thread so no confusion occurs with the design comments.

So, do those of us who live 'across the ditch' get let in?

I remember at uni one of our lecturers talking about how if you want to sell anything in Australia to wrap it up in Yellow and Green, you must have had the same guy! Wow, that's loud!

    No RSS feeds?

    Your very welcome :)

Gotta love the green and gold. I can't remember who told me but i was advised to go with those colours and so far it's working :p

Just trying to work out the RSS feeds now. Will try and organise them soon, you reckon they are worthwhile to activate?

Let me point you in the right direction... http://www.itamer.com/vbulletins-inbuilt-rss-feeds/248/

They take no effort on your part or the servers and they get you into my directory. But I do know that some users will load them into their readers. It's about having all the bases covered. :)

Nice layout and great colors. My favs. How much did the messageboard software cost you and do you think it's worth the expense?
