How do I get more forum users?

Hello DigitalPoint users! I recently opened a forum (SMF) a few weeks ago. www.forum.gamerforums.tk I only have 2 users, 3 including myself. I was wondering how I could get more users for my forum. My forum is about gaming. Please help me! Thank you!

 

.tk domain? A free domain huh.

No-one is interested to join your forum since u have the forum with a free domain.

1] Get a generic domain.
2] Allow signature links to attract users.

 

Yeah, unfortunately i'm a cheapskate who has a .tk domain. Although I have visited many .tk sites with many users. And signature links are enabled.

 

Since your domain is free and there is no guarantee of the domain to be belong to you after 1 yr of registration, your visitor lose trust there.

.tk has unlimited renews. Domain is not a problem. I just need a way to let people know...

To be honest i don't like it at all,
i don't know how to navigate it, Domain name tell me it's a game forum but the theme don't.

For start it's good to direct the visitor to forum instead of empty homepage, because the forum made the site richer.

visitor love to see professional logo, so consider it.

The forum looks great. But you need some attractive content to get posters. My experience says that you need to spent some money to populate your forum.

 

What kind of money? Can you go into more detail?

Like paid posters? advertising? articles?

 

In my opinion i would never join this forum.

1. you didn't take the time to make a logo. (if your good at it it takes 5 minutes)
2. you didn't spend the $10 on a domain name
3. you don't have an actually name for your forum - you will never be able to market anything! if facebook and twitter were both called general forum, would you waste your time.

Some tips
1. get a name for your forum along with a domain name
2. get rid of your empty boards and force on marketing one at a time.
3. Create an account to make posts with. Stop using your admin account to make posts. Admins manage the board, users make posts.
4. Start a game of the week. Do a few hours of research find out the weeks hottest game and post a download link and review ( you can use this to get members to come back)
5. I under stand its a gamer forum correct? well get rid of that theme. Unless your gunna focus on Battlefield.
6. Get some graphics and find some people that would like to join (your friends)

I just gave you all the information to get the ball rolling. Right now the domain you have is free... meaning you don't own the rights to it. Its like trying to sell a new produce without a copyright. If you don't listen to what i have just said. Your wasting your time and also ours. You asked for own help so far you haven't listened. Now is the time to start.
