    I don't think directory submission is dead. It may only have a less value in the eyes of Google. Just make sure to do submit manually in high PR web directories.

    It is not dead or even close in my experience. Off-page factors play a large role in how your site gets ranked. However, it's important to have a constant stream of new sites always linking to you. The only way to achieve this is to constantly have fresh, awesome content on your site that people are naturally going to want to link to each time they stumble across it. Long story short = Focus on building good content and the links will come by themselves.

    well actually it depends on the Dir site. many dir site are useless and has the same IP. for me DIR is still effective, once accepted it will become a backlink, also exposure and traffic that will help you gain better ranking.

    No, I don't think so that directory submission have been dead. Its working fine for me and mostly I do directory submission. Directory submission best and easy way to get traffic and backlinks.

    Directories have very poor palue for SEO. You should know that submitting your site in lot of directories once could be cause of Google sandbox or other penalties. If you are submitting your site in directories you must be very careful

    I don't think that directory submission is dead because I still do it and it still helps me make my website rank high on search engines. Directory submissions is still one of the best ways to make websites rank well on search engines...

    I received 65 Percent directory submission from SEO companies, It means directory submission still alive. Always chose High PR directories before you submit.
