opensiteexplorer.org or ahrefs.com - which one?

Have you used both? For competitive research and backlinks evaluation, which one would you choose?

    opensiteexplorer.org or ahrefs.com - which one?

Ahrefs seems to have a much larger database, and costs less.

Any reasons why you would recommend one over another? Alternatives to look at?

Why? How can this answer help anyone?

I have only used OpenSiteExplorer. I like it. I appreciate the Authority score. I find websites that have so called PageRank (toolbar, of course) but far less authority in OSE. That tells me their trust factor is lower, probably, and I shy away from a site without good standing in OSE. In fact, it makes me not trust the toolbar PR I see. That *can* be manipulated.

I will have to try the other 'good enough' one.

A perfect example of What's Wrong With DP. This says just as little as the post I chided just above. Clearly, Richard is just here for a sig link ... a perfect example of spamming the forum, and of "Black Hat SEO."

I actually started hanging out here recently with a small hope that I might find higher quality than at my usual haunts. Oh, well.
