Google sometimes shows the page title they think describes the content best. So if they think the title in the HTML is not describing the site properly they can change it. Make sure the title doesn't exceed the maximum number of characters displayed in SERPS and make sure the phrases u use appear in the body of the page as well.

Well i think when google shows previous meta it shows that crawler hadnt crawl your website again. When it crawls again your website then it will show your new meta in search engine result .

In most cases, Google Bot overlook the changes like title, description and the keywords. What you need is to force Google Bot for re-crawling and re-indexing.
    How?
    1. StumbleUpon is best option to make this happen
Post your URL with some description there.
    2. Do Follow Blogs
Do follow blogs where visitors flow is enormous like Ezine articles, hubpages or articlebase are best to that pupose.
    3. Do follow Forums
Great way to show Google what you have changed in your website.
    4. XML Sitemap
Sometime we mention in our sitemap that home page doesn't change day to day. Google follow such instruction and ignore the changes, check this setting also.

Hope that will work for you.
