You need an image editing program, like the free "GIMP". Make a layer for the background and a layer above it for your image. Erase the current background of you image and the new background in the layer below will show through. Then save the complete image.

    Hope this helps...

The easiest way to edit the background of an image is by using an original psd file.
This should have a number of layers that make up the image - for example background, foreground, text etc.
From a psd it's easy to change or delete a background layer.

If you only have a 'flat' image - such as a jpeg then you can still edit the file, but's it's much more tedious because you need to carefully draw around the foreground Image to extract it. Image editing software, such as Gimp, have tools that help - but you still need to tidy up the results.

Pictures with background behind fine detail - such as a persons hair - are more difficult.
It's possible to change or remove single colours, but this only provides good results if a background colour contrasts with the foreground image.
That's why it's a good idea to take pictures you might want to edit this way against, for example, a green background.

I have created lots of my own software able to make backgrounds transparent - but haven't packaged these into products for sale.

    Hi,
There is simple way to solve your problem.
You should use original file and choose area selection tool and select the whole background and fill color in it.

The easiest way is to make a selection of the background (if it is only one colour, use Magic Wand tool) and then change its colour to the one you desire.

Use another layer on top of your image. Delete the non background area of that layer. Use color layers and or filters. That's the easiest and fastest way. :) All photoshop of course!

Just render the image out of the background in photoshop (best editing program) and swap out the backgrounds.

There is couple way actually, but it's pretty long to explain here, if you want you can add my Skype.
But for me the most effective way is to use pen tool and make selection on the background, after that you can change the color by pressing Ctrl+U.
It should do it, if no then shoot me a PM :)

Don't drag the background to your picture, Instead drag the picture to your background so that your picture didn't block by the background.

I think you already manage your problem of whole image became b/w. But, if not, then please check your image mode - File > Image > Mode. It should be "RGB Color" for any desktop/web image.

Let us know and we will find another solution.
    Thanks.
