    I checked out ebook maestro but it has limitations & ebook maker is too $

    eBook software will be the best option for you because the price is fair and it gives you a chance to give it away or even sell them.

    You probably do not have to buy any software...

    1. EBooks may be created using MS Word, Open Office or other word processing program.

    2. With Word and a PDF editor you may "print to PDF" thus generating a PDF eBook which may be sold from your site. If your site is WordPress there are free plugins that may interface with PayPal. PDF eBooks are static...Text and images remain of fixed relative size. OK for viewing on home computers and tablets like iPad and Nook, but not suitable for small screen devices.
    Free software is available to convert PDF files to flowable files (EPUB, Mobi, and others) but image heavy files do not convert well.

    3. If your desire is to sell eBooks through Amazon, Apple, Barnes and Nobel, and other retail sites, each of them has online eBook creation tools that will work with HTML files generated from Word (Save as Web Page, filtered) after the Word file is formatted to remove Tabs, extra spaces, line returns and other Word formatting that may effect the conversion process. The tools available online from the retailers will convert your formatted HTML files to a format suitable for publishing.

    4. For great online source for all things eBook check the Wiki at http://www.mobileread.com/

    5. To publish eBooks to all major retailers except Amazon, check smashwords.com.

    6. To publish to Amazon check Amazon for KindleGen.

    It will take some time to digest all the information but it is worth the effort.

    I have found 2 programs that are great for ebook creation: Open Office and Microsoft Word. You can convert your content to PDF files to create your ebook.

    These two programs you will work fine especially if you're outputting to PDF and will only have text and images within your document.

    If you plan to add video or audio, which many do for their ebooks, you might want to take a look at Adobe Acrobat.
