    There probably are other 'free tools' but Googles is the most comprehensive... you can just do so much with it!

    Google Adwords tool is the best free tool available.Else you can go for paid tools like SEMrush,Market Samurai.

    Another option is a free tool called Traffic Travis.

    There are several basis to finalize keywords for a website, likewise its global and local searches, relevancy and competition. Talking about the keyword research tool google adwords is the best in my opinion but if you still wish to have some other tool then i can recommend you webmaster tool, webtracker and samurai etc.

    I use Google Adword Key Tool and SeoQuake add-on in my Firefox browser for keyword research. Market samurai is also very good for keyword research, but it is a paid tool.
