    Still Meta keywords plays a major role in Yahoo and BING search engine, but google does not bother about it..
    So in my terms, its essential.

    Meta tag play a very important role in seo. We add our keyword and description in meta tag.

    Yes you can use meta keywords but don't spam. Means don't insert a bunch of keywords in meta keywords. Just maximum 7 - 10 keywords.

    No, that wasn't really helpful at all.

    Google doesn't use it, and it plays a negative role with Bing (I'm sure everyone by now realises Yahoo! uses Bing). Ergo, don't use meta keywords.

    hi,wrongful use of keywords will get your website banned from the seach engines. The negative effect will even double. If you use the keywords right, the influence wil be little. But if you use them wrong, perhaps you get banned.

    Get your facts straight: that's complete rubbish; meta keywords aren't used (except by Bing as a spam flag). Where did you learn SEO - School of Spam?

    ya we can put kayewords in the meta tag but now a days search engine like Google does not give more priority to meta keywords.....but meta title and meta description is also very important factor in on page optimization.
