I have a good idea for a website I would like to start and I am having trouble for my domain name. I can have a very good .net domain with optimal keywords (2 words), or an okay .com that (3 words). Do i go with an okay .com or a great .net domain
In my case, I have been getting better SEO on my .Net sites. I think it all depends on what kind of website or blog do you have. Try going to Youtube and watching some videos on the difference between .Com and .Net and I am sure that you will get an idea which is best for your new site.
if you can compete on .NET through SEO then get it, but people are always writing .com on the browser first.
Yeah, i agree there's really no reason to buy a .net unless the .com is taken because, in general, people are more used to .com
I find them both to do well on SEO, for me it's just which extension looks the best with my domain name.
.Com is the prefered option but the.Net option comes a very close 2nd and if you can get a better 2 word domain by using the .Net that is the route that i would choose.
Thanks for the all information everyone, I will go with the .Net domain since it is slightly better and shouldn't make a significant difference for SEO
Well it is more of a free informational site for people and I just would like to profit off of advertising
Although I prefer .com over .net I just recently built sites in a similar niche One was .com and one was .net. I was actually able to rank the .net quicker.
If this is the case, i will take .net. .net and .com is both work well for me, By the way, if you have a good budget, you can consider to take both.
