    If I join forums in my niche and just post there leaving my keyword in anchor text. How long will it take for me to rank 1 in Google. My biggest competitor is a PR 2.

    Your biggest competitors pagerank means very little. It's an impossible question to answer because it depends on how competitive the keyword is, whether or not those links pass any value, etc.

    It actually depends on the keywords you're competing with. And ranking 1st on Google on an average keywordcan take a whole lot of your time and money. Its a lot harder in the big leagues where you need a whole department to compete.

    It all depends on your key words. If you use them correctly at the right place then there seems to be no one standing in your way.

    If the site is coded properly with all the metacodes and keywords, a conservative guesstimate is 6 weeks, but in 2-3 weeks, it can also happen talking from experience.

    People are saying that Forum profile links are out of work but I can't admire it. Cause I have some sites which are really awesome and jsut have a tons of forum profile + post links.

    How long is a piece of string?

    Your ranking depends on the competition.

    If you are going for a popular keyword, it could take a lot to get to page one.

    If you pick a long-tail keyword with very little competition, it could be done in a few weeks or months, more or less. It really depends on the environment, and how well you do with your on-page and off-page factors.

    I agree with the others. It depends on the keywords and the competition for those keywords. It could take months or even years to rank number 1.

    It depends on what you are trying to rank for. If your site is hands down the most relevant site on whatever the topic is, it can happen pretty quick. If not, it probably will never happen. Like you could try all you want to rank #1 for "digital point", but I bet you won't.
