Google, though the new msn search engine is looking tempting. I will keep with google though because how could you live without it? =)
I use Google most of the time, with MSN and Yahoo a little. Google still gives the most relevant results even with all their problems IMO. I also need to focus on Google as there is still 90% of users using Google to do their searches.
Most estimates say Google has a 40 - 50% share. Pick your source! The real question is, where do you get 90% from? That is just wrong...period.
If I'm honest it's my referrer data from all the search engines that people use to find my site. This current month is down at 80% though (I just checked)
That's YOUR site only, dude! Sort of what I suspected. There are so many factors that affect that. Your rankings are probably best in Google and that's why your % is so dangerously high.
You need to chill out Crazy Rob! Go get yourself a beer and take a deep breath. I've also read on a few sites about these kind of figures. http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=32&aid=66797 http://www.copydesk.co.uk/archive/2001_07_11_index.shtml If I had the time I would research these things a bit more thoroughly but I would be delighted if you were to show me a concrete source of what are the sort of statistics for search engine users.
I use Google all the time, but maybe it's only out of habit, and so many bookmarks there makes it easy to access. But that doesn't mean I'm happy with their results at all. I have no idea what they are doing. Most of the time I don't find what I'm looking for. I downloaded the Firefox browser, and I like the "search engine option" bar, where you can choose which search engine to use.
