Dear Fellow Members, Recently my site http://www.thinlenses.co.uk has lost it's ranking drastically for keywords high index lenses, thinlenses , thin lenses on google.co.uk . we used to be on position 3 and position 4 for home page and high index lenses page , but home page is now on 18 position for some reason. I have done some linking with other sites recently - is this is the reason of ranking going down ? What can I do restore my ranking asap. Can you guys tell me what to do to get this back on track. Your help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
I can't tell you the exact reason but you must wait for some time and carry on the seo process. It will return to the first page.I also suffered with a same situation.
Hi Approv, Thanks for your prompt reply. It's over a month now I'm waiting for it. It went back to it's original position once and than went down again which is a big concern for me. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
I think your website may be affected by Google Penguin Update. Since this was targeting spam, you need to remove any spam you might have. In some cases, Google may have sent messages to you about spam activity in the past. Messages may even be waiting for you in Google Webmaster Central, if you’ve never verified your account.
Hi shishirbabe, I just now visited your website and your rankings for the keywords you had mentioned.., for high index lenses, thin lenses you are ranking 3 and 1 respectively in Google.Co.uk but you have 0 backlinks in Google, and links which are linked is a image and apart from that you have around 10 text links all are pointing to single anchor text.., rotate your anchor text frequent interval of submissions.., backlinks - backlinkwatch.com hope this info helps you out..,
Well, the first reason that is popping up into my mind is Penguin update. But there could be other reasons too.. Here is Matt Cutts telling the most possible reason for the drop in SERP rankings... Check this out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=gx04qNrCbnk
It also could be a simple case of devalued backlinks, there has been a penguin update recently. I see you have a lot of links coming from similar domains, so maybe something happened there? Just an observation...
Check all of your links. With Penguin, google seem to have started allocating negative link juice for the first time on a page basis. This means if you have some links from bad quality site or spams sites, the negative juice from them could negatively effect your ranking too.
You don't need 'some' link building. You need a lot of link building. But quality links. Tier 1 links. Garbage links should only link to your tier 2 links, never to your money sites. Stopping or reducing your link building will guarantee that you continue to drop in the SERPS.
