SERP and page rank

Hello friends, I want to know that which is more important in SEO Page rank or SERP(Search engine result page). What do you think about this.

SERP, short for "Search Engine Results Page", is the listing of results on search engines in relation to a query using one or more keywords that a user has entered. The pages of results that you will see are the SERPs.

 

SERP and Page Rank both are important for SEO point of view for a site but to get more customers SERP is more important.
Page Rank is given by Google that shows the site has how much authority for Google.
SERP means Search Engine Result Pages that on which page & number your site is showing. First Page & 1-5 rank sites get highest traffic.

 

I do also think both are important.

 

Lot of us get confused with Pagerank and SERP position. We are not sure whether we need to have good pagerank for good SERP or whether pagerank is still important. We need to have a clear understanding of these two concepts whether we hire a company to optimize our website or we do it ourselves. Only when we know what pagerank and SERP position mean we will know what we are paying for when we hire an SEO company. SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page. This is the page in which search engine results are displayed when someone makes a search. These results depend on a number of factors including pagerank. Pagerank is specific to Google specific; Google rates all the websites and it ranks them based on their importance as per its algorithm. There are different views about pagerank some webmasters say that pagerank is of not importance as long as you get top position in the search results page. Whereas, some webmasters spend all their energy in increasing their pagerank.
There are cases where you can see a website getting listed within the top ten or twenty results irrespective of the pagerank. Sometimes even web pages that have good pagerank may not be listed in the top position where sites without any pagerank are listed. This indicates that pagerank does not decide your position in the search results page. The significance of pagerank comes when there is a huge competition. If you do not work on your pagerank then your competitor who has put in a lot of efforts to increase their pagerank may takeover your top positions.

 

I would say, SERP is more important than Page Rank [PR]. PR is something which is used by Google for determining the importance of the web page on the web. Moreover, PR is just one of the many factors used by Google for doing so. While SERP is the listing of results on search engines which can be improved by SEO and SMM campaigns. So, the Search Engine Results Page [SERP] is very valuable for any website.

Well. I would definitely go for SERP. the main motive of user to create the leads for the business. When ppl would come to his website with related keyword search terms that would help to generate the leads . Now thats what important or matters.

 

i think to get more customers SERP is more important. but Page Rank shows that site has how much authority for Google.

 

SERP is the most important for a website because if your website in the SERP you can get Page Ranking eaisly.

Search engine result page is the more important in SEO...it generates the business ...but site page rank can not generate the business.

 

Well that you tell us, whats more important to you targeted traffic to your website or a number on a toolbar.

The point is whats the use of having a PR of 6, 7 or even more. When you are not getting any targeted traffic. High ranking in SERPs can mean more targeted traffic and more sales. So you decide whats your priority.

 

SERP is more important than PR. Even Google is regardless PR now. More higher a website is listed on SERP of some keywords, the more traffic and targeted users it will get .

 

Depends on what you are looking for a PR or SERP, both hold there importance at different places.
but for now i will say that online marketers mostly concentrate on SERP as a better SERP can provide a better Business for you. will improve your reach to your targeted segment. in short a better ROI on your investments.
