how to get free traffic for my blog?

but i want people to really read it, because it sells something. and i mean free, not cheap... how did you do it? each one with his personal story of success...

 

There are tons of different FREE traffic sources, it all depends on what you are comfortable doing, or are willing to outsource.

Here are a few FREE traffic sources you can use:

1. Forums (signature)
2. Guest Blogging (Extremely Powerful)
3. Blog Commenting
4. Youtube Videos
5. Article Marketing
6. Article Syndication
8. Yahoo Answers
9. Social Media (facebook, Twitter, etc)

There are tons more, but these are the ones most commonly used.

 

Make sure your Blog is getting targeted traffic and its coming from relevant keywords not from links which have anchor text click here or see more details. It is because people coming from these types of links is generally not targeted which results in high bouncing rate of visitors for the Blog and nothing useful.

 

I would go for the top 3 as suggested by dahlgreen:

2. Guest Blogging
3. Blog Commenting

 

Yeah Forum Blogging and such but if you read a couple of ebooks you would realise the same rule applies - Constantly blog and place interest in other forums while self promoting yourself.

 

You can try article marketing,Facebook,twitter marketing,YouTube video marketing all this are free

 

I have seen a great increase of traffic on some of my personal sites just by writing a few articles and adding a link in the "about the author" section.

As several other users suggested, trying putting a link to your website in your signature link.

The list can almost be endless for free traffic.......perhaps you need to enlist a mentor or someone who can guide you step by step to achieving significant levels of free traffic. But I believe almost everyone out there has the ability to develop these free traffic methods, you've just got to put the work in. Just remember if your keywords aren't specific to your content, low competition and potentially long then you may have real problems with them getting your organic traffic through Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. Good luck

Using keywords which can draw attention to your blog can help drive alot traffic to your site

 

I'm alreadying using the 1st and 2nd method, but I also used few other methods in the past on this list. Basically, to get free traffic, you have to put in some effort to get it. Nothing in life is really free. Even free traffic methods require some work. But if you can put in some work, then it will pay off in the long term.

 

Use traffic exchanges
and you will get loads of free traffic -
but this is only one way
loads of other methods.

 

There have been some very good suggestions on this thread, however if you are seeking your first good traffic surge, I would focus on just one method you are comfortable with and become doggedly persistent. Dabbling here and there with several different methods is probably not going to net you the results you are looking for.

Free traffic would be forums posting, article writing, social bookmarking, google plus , social media such as facebook, twitter.

If you really want to have free traffic then the time needed to spend on it will be a lot. I would say those strategies are really time-consuming and if you really have something to offer, perhaps you can tried solo ads which is a form of paid traffic

 

Besides these, another hot three are social bookmarking, directory submission and seo.

Forums are my absolute favorite. Use your signature, post to your blog (yeah you have one on here). Get in and learn on Forums and as you,learn pass it along : )
That's how we all help each other. Not to mention if you like someone's offer When you click on their link. You can go back and see the types of posts they make.
So forums are a great places for both traffic and research.

Lead bartering is next but you have to have some confidence for this. Find out where the next product is coming from. Let's say a WSO. I think we all know what that is. Find out who has one coming up and offer your services in someway. In exchange for your help with support on launch day you get a bonus on their sales completion page or that and a link in their ebook. The bonus is pretty standard. You will get so many people that are hungry to buy straight to your free offer that you opt-in rate will go through the roof. Then lead these new customers to your blog that you are posting new content to everyday and you will have your cash flow audience all set up and waithing to here what you are gonna say next..

One of the best ways to get free traffic to any blog is CONTRIBUTING to other blogs via guest writing AND the comment section. this way you are targeting blog readers (not everyone on the planet).
