methods of link building didn;t change. it is how people use those methods. white hat link building methods are same as before. sites that were in legitimate link building practice didn;t get hit. only sites that were using spam methods suffered ranking loss. automated blog commenting, paid links, posing on blog networks, link farms, etc got many sites penalized.

when you build links, only use individual sites. its safe not to use any blog network or syndication network as lot of those networks got hit by google.

 

The most important thing is just NOT to spam to get those backlinks. Press releases and Article marketing are the best one, because the backlinks you get from this kind of websites are high quality (because of the high authority of the websites). Also some niche related forums would be good. Blog commenting is a very slow way to get quality backlinks (because of the high number of OBL's in each article!)

I think that Forum Posting is one of the best method for Link Building. Through Forum Posting you can get the high PR quality backlink for your website. Also through it you can get the high web traffic for your website. which is most important factor of the Link Building.

 

Strategy should be same if you followed white hat strategies earlier. I am now working with posting in forum, commenting blog and article submission, what I did before.
