What do you mean by forbidden? DDOS? server problems? Or all the search engines ganged up on you?

Google can lower your seo rank if you have periodic problems with server.

There are many possibility like high server usage may also give you the 403 forbidden error. Best way to check your webhosting area.

I am expecting you run tech blogs. This is periodically happening to all tech blogs.Unfortunately, it happened to you when your site was down.I am badly affected with such issues and still haven't entirely come out.Lost 70% traffic. :( Looking for SERP regaining once again.

Just keep doing the normal stuff, the bots will return and so will the visitors. If you can't afford the odd "off" day then you may be in the wrong business.

Yes, I am Tech blogger and but due to high CPU usage,, Hostgator team Deactivated our site for 7-8 hour .. Then when i came and i re-Activated again by contacting support team...

I lost most of traffic on google -- At least %70-%80 ..

Even we did fight against PANDA Update ,, Never face any big issue against them..

But this time .. Hostgator stopped our site few hour and we lost our usual traffic.. I have no idea what to do....

Now I Contacted Hostgator team - They said " Your site is not getting any problems in the server nor does there seem to be any blocked URL's. "

Now The problem in Google , When my site was stopped 7-8 hour,,,

IS Google Down the rank due to this issue ?

You're really not making any sense. Before you stated:

So what has this got to do with Google? If you have a problem with Wordpress and your host is claiming it's not to do with them (although frankly Hostgator's support is very poor), then you might be better off asking for help in the Wordpress section (or hiring someone) if you can't fix it yourself. As far as I'm aware, there should be http access and error logs (at least when I used Hostgator up until about January 2011), so you'll be able to see what requests were made and the error codes being returned at the time of the problem.

Fuel.Comp, the short answer is yes you will have lost rankings.

Google wants to deliver their traffic to web sites which are going to respond to the request. Lets say for example that you were ranking in the top spot for keyword "techy term xyz" and Google tried to send you some visitors during that 7-8 hour down time period. Those visitors would immediately bounce back to Google because they didn't find what they were looking for. Now imagine that this scenario is repeated across all of the keywords that you are ranking for... Google is going to notice that when they send traffic to your domain it is always bouncing back, this probably sets off a flag for them to send out the bot to see whats what, the bot hits your site and gets the error that the site is offline... thus Google lowers your rankings.

The good news is that your rankings will come back once Google sees that your site is back online and functioning again. So don't worry about it and just keep working on your site and your day to day stuff that you do for your site.

You may be right. But do you think 7-8 hours down can cause such devastation. I am not convinced though. If it is happening on regular basis there may be a possibility but all on a sudden a site goes down for some hours (not days) and this causes 70-80% loss of traffic. Wondering!!! God and Google knows the exact reason.

Yes, this is nothing new to me. I suffered from the same issue earlier. Because of that I check CPU usage couple of times a day and the usage graph.

I can't see that causing a ranking problem. It seems more like a coincidence (remember: "correlation is not causation"). If he look in Google Webmaster Tools he will see if Googlebot has frequently had problems with access, or if it was a one off. And also any pages causing 404s, etc.

I completely agree with you. It's a coincidence. Nothing else.
