Website Review and questions

I have been running this site DCCollectors.com for a little over a year now. I have seen an increase in traffic over that time, but not like I would think or other comparable sites.

I would be appreciative if you could give a review of the site and also any tips or info or tell me something I am not seeing that could boost traffic to my site.

    Thanks

Hi, I think you have a very nice site there. You are doing everything right onsite. Perhaps you could put up a definate call to action on a competition or some other list building campaign then press release and socialise it. Perhaps a direct article request campaign asking for favourite storylines or most wanted editions etc. to try and get some direct user interaction other than the forum route.

I like the concept very much and hope you keep pluggin away. I've Google +1'ed and socialised you, hope that helps a bit. I think if you concentrate on the social network marketing route, pinterest, facebook, digg, twitter etc and keep plugging away with fresh content then you'll get stacks of traffic over time.

So do you think the forum is a waste of time?

Better concentrate on other things, I agree with LesFletcher.

If I remove the forums, is there a certain procedure I need to take so that google doesn't penalize me for missing URLs?

I'm sure you will get good traffic., that's a pretty confusing home page. The message is hard to read and understand, and I had to make quite a few attempts to click on those tiny dots.
Fun idea, but not practical for the web.
