It takes a lot of time to find the articles that will find traffic. How do you people find the topics to write ?

I usually just create a huge list of keywords and then after I will just pick a keyword and start writing an article around that keyword.

Google trends isnt a bad place to start. http://www.google.com/trends/. It shows what keywords are currently being searched a lot on Google. It wont always be helpful but if you see something that is relevant you know people are searching for it, so take that keyword and run with it. Make a solid article based on that keyword and I'm sure you will get some solid traffic.

For me, I suggest that you should first determine your target readers and what they want or need. From that you can smoothly pick the topic you must write.

Your chosen niche will naturally contain a large set of keywords and also keyphrases. List them and then combine this with research on Google Trends to identify the most appropriate one to write about at that time.

If you have problem coming up with topics.... check out the popular blogs in your niche and study them. See what kind of topic they write about, and which types attract more comments, track backs etc.

Also read blog comments and see what are the questions are being asked. That way you will get lots of ideas on what topic is popular so that you can leverage it.

Do not write ditto. Give it your own twist or angle.

One easiest way is to write top 10 type of articles related to your niche. Or around it.

    Hi,

Thanks for your inputs . I do use all these, Google reader, google trends, follow websites etc. and all these give me a lot of ideas on what to write and blog about. But all these are passive things. I mean the ones from where I get the idea already have the first mover advantage. They are bound to get more than me on the same content. What I want is something to be told by some algorithm or something that will give me ideas about the topics that will be searched over the internet. For example, if I know what will be the twitter's most trending hashtags on a particular date, I can leverage on it.

And I don't mind paying for it as this will surely get me a lot traffic.

I Hope you get the idea.

Use the Google AdWords Keyword tool to see how many people are search for specific topics (keywords).

Subscribe RSS of blogs that you really want to read. Then make your own conclusions and write them down.

The key to a really successful blog is to write about what you KNOW or what you ENJOY, don't write for what you think the search engines will like. If you write good articles about what you know, traffic will follow.

As you can tell from these replies, everyone uses Google Trends, Yahoo Buzz, etc to get their ideas to try and cash in on what is hot. My advice - don't do it. Anything that hits that level is oversaturated and although you may grab a few long tails, it'll likely be short-lived.

take a cup of Coffey and think about your topic witch want you discus and select some keyword.
after selection of keyword write a strong content around the keyword. don't use any site or copy materiel for your articles.
always use your own opinion or knowledge.

Totally agree with you dude, if everyone is doing the same thing, everyone is following those 3-4 sites, there will be a flood of articles on the same topic and those 3-4 sites would be the only winner..... Did you find any solution thou ??
