Adsense Mature Content Question...

My adsense has been taken away due to adult/mature content. It's not a porn site, it is a celebrity site but a lot of the pictures are in bikini's, lingerie, etc... sometimes there are see through tops or other-wise topless (with hands covering parts, etc)... not a full on porn site, but not work friendly either.I have went through and classified all the photos which questionable content. Which of these options would Adsense be okay with:

1) Keep the pictures but don't show Adsense ads on the pages with the pictures
2) Keep the pictures but don't show Adsense ads on the pages with the pictures AND require users to log in to see those pages at all
3) Remove all the pictures

Obviously option 3 makes the site a little more boring so I would rather do option 1 or 2 (preferably 1) if adsense allows...

 

Why don't you ask them? Failing that, I'd take the Adsense Ads off the pages with photos, or why not only put photos on that can't be classified as porn, and have the other photos elsewhere in a secure part of the site, with no ads.

 

Personally, I wouldn't classify any of them as porn I don't have a problem with an occasional nipple slip... but that is where google's policy is a little lacking. It doesn't describe what porn or mature is... and it is different for different people. That doesn't really matter though. I think I understand Google's definition and that is what is really important.

I have asked the same question on their forums but I'm not sure if I am going to get an answer. I have heard directly asking them is a waste of time also but I may do that. I just know there are people here with a lot of experience with this kind of thing so I guess I am looking for different opinions of what they allow.

So your suggestion sounds like number 2... remove the pictures except for logged in members, and only serve ads on public, clean pages. Does anyone know if google is okay with that option?

What about option 1? Just showing ads on pages without the pictures but not restricting access to the other pages?

 

In the first post, where I had the options of keeping or removing pictures, I was referring to the questionable pictures... of course the safe pictures can stay where they are. I'm just wondering what to do with the questionable ones

You could also start advertising with other companys such as juicyad's. Incase you can't get your account back.

 

Yeah, that's the route I would suggest as well. If it's considered "Not Safe For Work", it's probably too far for Google's policy with their advertisers. There's plenty of Adsense alternatives you might want to check into that might allow your content. Also you can possibly try to find some CPA offers to promote, depending on your demographic.

 

Using 'such' pictures on pages that contain Adsense is pretty risky. To be on the safe side, avoid using Google Ads where such pictures are used.

Anything showing a nipple would be prohibited. Sites that focus exclusively on scantily clad women need to be very careful when using adsense, because adsense generally frowns upon those kinds of sites.

 

That was a risky move as Adsense has been on the war path banning accounts.

 

I didn't actually get my account banned. I had other websites on it so they just disabled the one site... It's okay though. The site has been doing okay with cpm networks since adsense was removed.

 

the ppc is horrible anyway so putting adsense on pics sites is a waste
even if you have an adult link or mention of the word nude you will get banned and that means your site finally got indexed.

they banned three of my sites for just the word in a post. At first I was pissed, but ran the number and it never made any money anyway.
