If you're planning on making websites, learn PHP first of all for sure!!! It's a must that you do that if you're planning on dealing with websites.
In addition to that, you should learn JavaScript, HTML & CSS.

However, if you're looking to just learn learn a programming language or want to make desktop apps, I'd check out C++.
Java is good for beginners also (do not confuse Java with JavaScript).

Go for Java and PHP. Java - Google App Engine, Android, JavaEE, Spring.
PHP - Most websites run by PHP.
Python is also good and easy to learn.

In my view, you should go for the ASP.net language because it is much easier to other language like JAVA and ASP.net is the language which is used frequently by the s/w developer to make their websites and it is very secure language.

I wouldn't compare ASP.NET to Java. Two entirely different languages with 2 entirely different purposes. As for a language being "very secure"..it's what you do with the language that makes your application secure or vulnerable.

What blueparukia already said, it realy depends on what you want to make.
Web software, Games, or windows applications.
For websoftware you should start with html and css (the basics) after that php or asp.net (asp is easier, well for me it is:))

And for windows apps i suggest you start with visual basic, as it is the easiest coding language in my opinion after that C#. That one is easy too, but a little bit more advange.

    I would strongly suggest JavaScript.
It might not sound interesting at first, but it's really really useful.
Plus, every company needs JavaScript developers no matter what.

Java is a great language and one of top programming languages being used today. If you want something really easy to study, go for Python. It's high level programming language so it's easier to study.

How does every company need JavaScript developer? JavaScript is even as NECESSARY as a PHP in web development to begin with. Not all projects require JavsScript but nearly all of web development requires some server side language.
