Definately Magento! Very powerful and open-source.

This is a store I created myself - Store and site SOLD Nov '11 - I'm still in contact with the new owner.. and apparently site is doing great! fairingkits dot org

Magento is the way to go - At first you will have to go through a learning curve and learn lots of new stuff - but then again there are loads of tutorial websites and help on the web.

    Good luck!

It depends on the type of business too. I usually use the Wordpress commerce system as I find this works really well for small and big eCommerce sites. If you also host it on Wordpress, you get a lot more control over theme etc, and it's really easy to use in my opinion. Plus, it's free!

Similarities of dating and ecommerce platforms...nice to "try" them out, but sooner or later you have to commit to ONE of them.

OfferGrid is a powerful shopping enabler for publishers on Mobile, Web & Social channels and a distribution network for merchants and merchant aggregators.

With gridAPI – the powerful Ecommerce API to develop shopping apps, you can start building your own apps & go live in no time.
This is a RESTful API, simple and promotes interoperability with use of universal technologies like HTTP, JSON and XML. To add more, it also comes along with other relevant information like cities, categories and subcategories where the products and offers exist, all this completely customizable.

We also provide readymade XML feeds which you can directly integrate with your Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal or any content management systems and for the developer mind, there is a nifty gridAPI, which can be used to design your own applications.
Take a look at some of the Application ideas where grid API can be used:
    · Product Search & Comparision as Actionable content in something like Shopzilla
    · Product Aggregation as Actionable content in something like Dealmandi
    · Social Recommendation for shopping as Actionable content in something like Shopsocially
    · Pure play shop setups as Actionable content in something like Shopify
    · And lot more…
What’s more, the best shop on our network gets a Samsung Galaxy S2. So launch your application and keep the leaderboard ticking.

I love Shopperpress, however I think thats reletively unknown as I don't hear a lot of people talking about it. Out of them four I think Magento is probably the best as I would use that if I didn't use shopperpress.

I think that it depends on the scale and objectives as well as experience of your customer.
Magento is better for large-scaled ones with many outstanding features, but a little bit difficult to use at first.
Prestashop may be suitable for small and medium-sized ones and is fast and easily installed and customized.
    Good luck!

Most of the members in this forum suggest magento. but you can also try ISC shopping cart from this site -- iscexperts.com. I've been using interspire shopping cart on my ecommerce site (clothing). Now my site is UP and running. I purchase Isc banner slider - nivo for a reasonable cost. I really love the look.

Why don't you try and suggest it to your client just visit cartaddon.com
or add them on Skype: cartaddon
    try their demo site.

The best is Volusion. It costs $20. It's worth the investment if you ask me. Good luck!
