    you cant do that with ajax, because xmlhttprequest object cant use multipart data. BUT , you can use flash or some scripts which uses hidden iframe. check this, net.tutsplus com/tutorials/javascript-ajax/uploading-files-with-ajax/ ,for flash digitarald.de/project/fancyupload/

    I think you have to re-coding of your image scripting language with jquary so it will be easy to scroll.
