Well nofollow links are for people,it helps in improving your traffic hence improving your SERP . But as far as page rank is concern nofollow links might still have a part in the search algorithms.

 

It really depends on what your going for, if you want to really go into detail you need to look into the algorithms and remember they are constantly being updated and changed so its a world you need to b on tabs with at all times.

In my opinion you can still get traffic from nofollow links. You would not get traffic from search engines, but from the websites themselves. If you have good backlinks, this can be very beneficial even though the links are nofollow. Nofollow links cannot hurt your website, Search engines would not let them impact your rank.
