Lots of weird traffic from PSINET Inc - increasing bounce rate

Should i be concerened about this? It's also increasing bounce rate on my site. I just recently started a new site and all of a sudden I'm getting tons of traffic from PSINET INC.

I've included screenshots so that you can see. has anyone else had this or know what i can do? How do i figure out the originating IP and block it?

 

dug a little deeper and found out the ip address is coming from Cogent Communications 38.99.82.234

that wouldnt be a spider/crawler like google bot or something would it?

 

ending up blocking 38.99.82.0 - 255 and it's stopped. still wondering wtf it is as i cant seem to find any info on whether or not its a bot

 

I am been hit by it too, if it is a bot, it should not run js, so it will not appear on google analytics
it seem it is more function bot or a ie crawl

 

it's a bot. i think you should block range ip from PSINET INC by htacccess

 

PSINet INC was bought out by Cogent, who is a HUGE BB provider.. Alot of the IP's listed for PSINet INC trace back to washington DC or Ft. Mill, SC I don't want to sound paranoid or like a conspiracy nut, but I believe it is a crawler scanning web content and caching as it builds it's database. There has been a huge increase in activity from PSINet INC in the last few years... block em while you can

 

If you want to exclude it from your GA reports, create a new view with a filter to exclude this ISP organization. See attached.
