Off Page Campaing = Link Building / Backlinking Activites. Gathering or getting quality sites to link back to your web page.

 

What you are doing for optimize page(s) out side on website, means without touching the website (for which website you're optimizing)

 

After google Penguin update it is very conscious thing because now off page is very strict because spammers were doing wrong ways to get backlinks from other websites.

 

Off is main part of the seo with out off page we are not getting ranking on google, yahoo, bing etc.

You must get your on-page optimization right first. Then you will need far less off page optimization. Especially post Panda and Penguin

 

In my opinion on page and off page both optimization are very important in seo. But off page optimization has more priority cause depending on it Google ranks a site.

As on-page optimization is a factor of SEO, similarly off-page optimization is also a major factor of SEO, it is also known as link building in which we build link. But after Google's algorithm we need to take care of it that we never build spam links, otherwise website may be penalize by Google. Most activities such as social bookmarking, directories submission, blog commenting, forum discussion comes under the section of off-page SEO. It is also helpful because of that we can increase our knowledge from forum and blogs.

Off page and On page, both are equally important. Without On-page, all the link building would be useless and there wont be any meaning of link building without on page. If you want to be the champ, you must be good in both activities.

Off page is good for big sites , big web directories , but really i have only tried on-page and have worked wonders for my sites
