Duplicate Title Tags - On Same Page or All Pages?

Google Webmaster Tools is reporting duplicate title tags. Does this mean I have the same title tag used more than once on a page; or that I have the same title tag used on several pages? I am obviously new, but trying to figure this out. COuld the problem be the Wordpress theme is generating the same title on every page? I think that may be the problem, but want to make sure I am not missing some duplication on one page. It is difficult to make a change and wait to be crawled to see if it worked...

The page title appears twice on each page between , one is being generated by the theme, and the other by a seo plugin. However; this is also on every page: . I selected the option to not display the site title, but is is still being identified as a title by google? That is why I was wondering if duplicate meant the same title duplicated on a single page, or one title duplicated across multiple pages.

I have deleted (instead of hiding) the site title "" that was on every page in case that is considered duplicate. And I resolved the page title duplication, so each page has a unique title and it appears in title tags only once. Now I wait for google to crawl and let me know if that fixed it...

Yes, and you might be waiting for a long time. I would try to ping it or something if you haven't lately in order to try to get it crawled ASAP.

My site's webmaster tool shows that I have 84 Duplicate meta descriptions and 85 Duplicate title tags. I am using All in one SEO plugin and CMS is Wordpress. Can someone help me to resolve this issue. Guess 84 is pretty high number. I tried the method suggested by hassan001 but I have not found duplicates from source. Please suggest. I am much worried:((((

One question, If are targeting "Coupon code" keyword for the homepage and "Coupon codes for one of your inner pages, will Google consider it as duplicate title tag?

I have seen this issue arising too much these days....

Before we move here is a matter of consideration.....

Check Your Site for 301 Redirects

301 Redirect error can be defined as the duplicate content error which means Google is accessing different pages with www and without www on the same website....

To resolve this issue there are few wordpress plugins....

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-301-redirects/

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/

I am sure most of the guys are having same issue.... Find some more information in Google about this and you will have much clear idea.....

If there is another issue please update this post.....

    Regards

Most probably it could be the same title on different pages. You can verify it from the details in your webmasters account (expanding the results with '+' sign) to check which urls have the same title.

Pulling my hair out on this... crawled and still have duplicate title tags. Looking at my code, there is only one title tag per page and every page has a different/unique title, so the issue must be in the theme or a plugin. It is not: replytocom, photo gallery, tags, or images. Google webmaster tools lists the pages I have with duplicate titles... every page I have is listed! No two pages contain the identical title, so maybe the issue is duplicate title tags on the same page?? I am concerned with the trailing slash, but have rel="canonical". I guess my next step will be to disable my seo plugin. I researched many forums, FAQs and sites, and the issue is frequently raised, but never ends in a definitive response.
