    from my own experiences( still own an oscommerce website)

    search engine unfriendly(to make it friendly you have to do tons of changes with codes)
    too many security issues
    poorly written scripts(again to many modification with scripts which is time consuming)
    even the latest version seem to be outdated

    I feel Magento is sometimes a bit too complex. It all depends on what you need. One shoppingcart that I love for its simplicity is Prestashop. Super userfriendly and very fast.

    So, it depends from size of shop. Magento is more suited for very big powerful shops. It has wide functionality. Other shop systems are suited for little or medium sized shops. And I believe Zen Cart is best among them.

    Yes, I am totally agree with eva. If you have very big shops then you should go with magento otherwise zencart is best.
