Ways to get backlinks from .edu and .gov sites?

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by seotrafficsearch, May 12, 2012.

Usually .edu and .gov sites have a very high page ranking and getting links from such sites can really give us an edge over the others. Now how do we get backlinks from such sites which usually do not involve in any SEO practices. Any ideas?

You can participate in .EDU and .GOV forums. That is one cool way to get backlinks.

Well, yes that could be one way but in most of the cases there aren't any forums attached. Any other viable ideas? :)

Buy scrapebox, you can harvest lots of .edu and .gov sites there and then put into blog commenter of Scrapebox.

Links spamming as method to increase SEO does work anymore. I do not suggest anyone to do it. Those who are selling links from .edu and .gov domains have already seen (or would see) their revenue dropping very soon.

I also think that you could find .edu and .gov blogs, but check EACH of them MANUALLY!!! If the page has more than 250+ posts, then your comment would be a waste of time and could also be checked as a spam backlink! And it would NOT help you for your SEO ;)

    You can always try Googling these footprints;

    inurl:.gov+inurl:blog
    site:.edu inurl:wp-login.php +blog
    site:.gov inurl:wp-login.php +blog
    site:.edu inurl:”wp-admin” +login
    site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment”
site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” –“comments closed” -”you must be logged in”
    “keyword”
site:.edu “no comments” +blogroll -”posting closed” -”you must be logged in” -
    ”comments are closed”
site:.gov “no comments” +blogroll -”posting closed” -”you must be logged in” -
    ”comments are closed”
inurledu|gov) “no comments” +blogroll -”posting closed” -”you must be logged in” -
    ”comments are closed”
site:.edu inurl:blog “comment” -”you must be logged in” -”posting closed” -”comment
    closed”
    “keyword”
    keyword blog site:.edu
    keyword +inurl:blog site:.edu

For this, you must use relevant and white hat SEO.

Most of these forums allow nofollow links. So its a difficult strategy to get such backlinks from .EDU and .GOV forums.

You can do this yourself using footprints in Scrapebox to harvest suitable .EDU and .GOV sites which are open for comments. Alternatively, you could outsource the work to a proven provider in the industry. We offer .EDU links services ourselves (see signature), and our website rankings are proof enough that are methods work.
