Hi there, I have read on this forum that people are getting paid like 0.05 or 0.10 etc., and that 0.30 is a good amount. I added adsense just few days ago. Each click that I get pays around .80, and the lowest is around .60. My advise: 1. Don't care about those high paying keywords. My site is NOT about any of those high paying keywords; I have a forum site on an area of science. So no commerce, no mention of holidays, planes, mba, whatever. 2. Create something original, about a topic about which noone really created anything before. I think this is EXACTLY WHY my clicks never pay too low. Coz the subject I created my site about is a very limited area, and I don't know any sites on the Web that are as up to point as my site is. With a very low page rank, my site shows up on the first page about virtually anything that is contained on any page of it.
Thanks JC!! Maybe I should not word this as "advice" since I am in no position to give advice as a newbie. But yeah, it is an observation. Before I first put adsense, I never thought my clicks would be high paying, and indeed, I thought that they would be the lowest paying ones, since my site has nothing to do with anything related to money, commerce, business, etc. But yeah, that was not the case, and my clicks are pretty good even though I get very few of them since my site is quite new.
i agree on your number 1. I actually have a blog and all the word inside are mostly high paying keyword. However, after a while, I was hit by smart pricing. hmm.
I consider this as basic information but it's 100% true. Focus yourself on building original content, then the high paying clicks will come automaticly. Nice forum post.
I have to admit - there is something about this theory. I made blog about my country /Slovakia - who cares?/ and than I let it settle and now I am getting 40c clicks instead of 5cents....
At some level high paying keywords are the key to maximize your revenue. Science niche does have very high paying keywords as far as I know. My highest click was 2.20$ on a Money/Marketing blog which is very good for this niche.
Give it a couple of weeks. New sites frequently get high values per click... in a couple of weeks (maybe sooner) you will be very disappointed to see those dreaded 1c to 5c clicks.
True, never care about high paying keywords. Concentrate on adding unique content and try to generate traffic, as traffic = $$$
emm.. my problem is not the few cents but how to place my adsense as I seem to get just around a few clicks per day so eventhough my clicks average 30cents I only earn around $1.5 per day
