    Not true. One of my websites have several backlinks that are dofollow but aren't counting. The links were added a long time ago so it's hard to believe that Google hasn't noticed them.

    whats the best way to check a sites google backlinks
    I have checked a few sites that I compete with in checkpagerank.net and that listed them all has having 0 google links
    But are high in serps

    To be quite honest, I don't think Google gives "any" value to backlinks that it considers to have been placed there by the webmaster.

    I think Google's backlink is the links which are related to Google. Like google plus's backlink is counted cause I have only seen poor amounts of google backlinks also in the high page ranked sites.

    There is no clear cut answer to this question, because Google has never revealed which links they count as backlinks and if they do so then everyone will be misusing it. The only answer they have given and we know is that "links from good quality websites are possible backlinks."
