it didn't hurt our webshop in any way. hard to say but, most of the site that was hit by the update has a lot of spam backlinks and mediocre contents.

Yes this was really unpredictable behavior of Google. My rankings were very good before this update and when I checked they were never even close to the previous ones. Now I am working on improving and finding ways to handle such things in future.

A lot of site have been hit but I suppose at the end of the day if I have a site that has been hurt by the update then I have to go back to the drawing board and look at the reasons why - re-adjust and make things better :)

when i checked with my sites, I found that the effect is done and for few keywords my positions are dropped. I think the effect is in Keyword Level.

Nope, not at all. This is another signal that should make webmasters aware of the situation: quality is king.

Nopes! I won't say improvement but none of my site got harmed by it. It hit hard most on over optimized websites. I had none of those, in fact, I don't even properly optimized my site and still they work fine. Although, not great deal of traffic but enough to generate leads besides ranking well too.

don't take this the wrong way.. but if English isn't your native language, then find someone who has more grasp of grammar to write your homepage text.

Also optimizing your homepage for 2 different languages ain't going to work.. in this type of case setting up a subdomain like languagename.webihawks.com to provide the content in other languages is good practice..

GOOGLE updates are meant for providing good search results.

The sites which have been effected are those which has spam or that doesnot have quality content
