Forums v/s Blog for SEO

Is adding Forums (PHPBB) or a blog (Wordpress) better for SEO to your company website or for a web hosting company?

I'm not talking about link backs from other forums or websites. I was talking about installing a forum/blog on your own website. Does that help?

 

Forums and blogs are surely one of the best sources for backlinks but do not spam them

 

Forums you rely on your visitors to post topics to gain you visibility in the search engines but with a blog its all up to you to write the content an publish it yourself.

 

I daily do forums and blogs so that it is good source for getting backlinks.

 

If you submit unique and valuable content in the blogs, you get lot of traffic to money automatically

 

I do prefer blogging because you can control the content that is posted and you can always maintain relevancy.

 

Go with both if possible. And if you have to choose one, then it depends on how much time you are willing to spend. Forum would require high investment and time whereas blog can be started with few posts.

 

Go with the blog. Nevermind the SEO, going with a forum could potentially backfire. I know for myself, I never go to my web host's forum unless I have a problem and want to post about it. I don't go there to write thoughtful, long posts that will have any bearing on the web host's SEO or to go back every day and post my life story.

On the flipside of that, it could be good to show visitors that people are using your service because they're voicing themselves on the forum.

With a blog, you can make targeted articles on what keyword you're aiming at for SEO, and you have control of the content without having to police it everyday for spam and negative reviews.

I have a real estate related site, and I want to get backlinks for my site. So I recommended to do forum posting. When I search there are lots of forum sites are available so I little bit confused to do forum posting. Please suggest me where should I go for forum posting. I mean I should search only forum site related to real estate or I can posting to any forum site. which one is better.

 

WordPress Platform is good for blog section because you can easily manage and use of plugins for SEO perceptive.

Yes i also agree with seotrafficsearch as forum demand more time as compare to blogging. So try to use blogging.

I think generating back links from forum and Blog these both are used to get professional based knowledge both are useful sites only, blog and forum, if both are do follow, google gives much priority to a forum backlink and blog backlinks .

 

...i find the maintainance of a forum quite a task...I will stick with a blog on my site and keep it tidy with interesting clearly laid out goodies for my visitors. After all...facebook page needs to be taken care of, the site itself and then the blog...I goto go home and see the kids at least every once in a while

 

i think Forum is good option as compare to blog ...but still it's depend on nature of business...

 

In my opinion, Forum will be the better. cause by adding forum a website can get a good traffic.
Not only that but also users can discuss about their problem.
