    today the same thing happened to Google. i saw a massive change in Google' result for several keywords.

    Yes, i see the change but most of the funny thing is mostly zero content sites get on top on high quality keywords.

    The Penguin has landed! That is what G is calling their latest Algo update. It apparently started 2 days ago and is completed as of today. Many web masters have been left in the dust while a few have benefitted from this change. I think its worth waiting a bit before reacting though, unless you know that you used spammy links!

    this explains a lot. HAd a site ranking #1 for a fairly popular keyword and now I gave up looking for it after Page 12...too depressing.

    How can a site really drop from #1 to somewhere in the unknown? Its like a sick joke.

    But I have a little comfort in knowing that this happened to others here on the exact same day it happened to me.

    By constantly altering their algorithm they appear to be working on getting better results for searcher's query's. Appearances can be deceiving.
