Adsense and your blog

Most people think that blogs are hardly a way to generate income through adsense, but I really think otherwise.

In my past, I have had a blog that generates a huge profit by reviewing unknown products, or very specific niche products.

If you get a good PR and are specifically targeting niche products to blog about, then you will receive an excellent amount of people purchasing the product and get excellent results.

I have used this method many times in the past, and it has been working very well!

i agree. making a site or blogging about a niche is most profitable - and the first most important task is to decide what that niche topic would be.

    5% is very good
For a lot of the products that I promote the average CPC can range between 0.2 and 0.9 so let's say...

for each 1000 pageviews your making $27.5

    at 10,000 $275
    at 100,000 $2,750
    at 1,000,000 $27,500
    etc.

if your blog has CTR less than 1-2 % then you most likely have either

NO SEO at all and hence too many similar or equal ads allover your blog
    OR
    NO adsense optimization at all

for both above you find plenty of tutorials and tips HERE in DP forum

all it takes to earn real money is REAL EFFORTS in doing the thruly best on your blog/website

if your CTR is less than 5% but better than ~2%, then you most likely need more interesting topics and more precise focus on an individual topic for each post to make adsense a true value added complimentary source of possible information or help TO the surver/visitor

a CTR of 0.x % simply means you have done 100% wrong in your blog

    craiger22
if you are ready to work and improve
then pls give me your blog URL and i'll have a look

but that means you need to be able to CHANGE templates, layout, CSS, adsense placement, etc

to earn REAL $ out of your blog NEEDS to be worth REAL WORK before earning starts

Hey, i was thinking about this today.

I got my blog here: http://silentbits.com/ and it is not like you say here.

Well about my blog topic there are many websites like this.

I must say my earning from it are very small and i got about 1k visits per day.

Anyway maybe you got some ideas for me how to change it :)

    ... probably not :(

while your blog looks clean and well styled
there are a few points I would totally change

    1. start page has only 1 link unit - i saw zero other ad units - I would palce 2 - 3 ad units out of the popular formats v( see Google pages for precise definition )

I typically use different formats on most pages - hence if I use 3 units -. then 3 different formats
I also strictly use units that offer image ads or video ads

    2. while I blend in my ads as well - I never blend them in totally - I always try to leave a visible difference between my content and the ad
hence people instantly recognize the ad units as some different source of possible complimentary information

    3. I very definitely would use a bright/warmer more friendly colors as a back ground color instead of your blue

color affect mind and heart and either invite or reject !!

i clicked on one more page
and saw more ad units than on start page

you have a sikyscraper on the right(middle ) of the page
and you have most/all navigatin on the right side of the page ...

there are scientific whitepapers on the web that show how the human eye skips thru a page

the white paper I saw months ago was to the effect of

    from top left to right
and down left to right - downwards on page left to right

hence greatest attention always is left side
thus best for navigation bar and skyscraper ad units to be left

the rectangular similar to your present position
in a central position of the content or just at the end ( bottom ) of a content unit OR on top of a content unit

early this year I moved my blog from a 2-3% CTR to an all time above 5% CTR

since my own blog is quiet successful with some 2000+ unique pageviews/day currently - you may want to try and copy some of my own outline ideas and / or colors

just a try for a 2 weeks or a months or so

    - color
    - bg color
    - positining
    - ALL navigaton to the left side !

look at the formats I use and where I use them - I also rotate colors of the ads using Google's javascript method of rotating ad colors

the fact that many other sites / blogs look alike is in NO WAY any proof that they are even half way successful
most ppl on the web simple don't know any better or have never tried to study best SEO / adsense techniques

    Good luck

I agree. Blogs still have an advantage in generating real traffic (tags, rss feeds etc) that the average 'normal' website.

Everytime I start a new site (or facelift an old site), I wonder how I can squish this, and squeeze that, to get in running as a WordPress powered site.

I do blogs about stuff people are searching for on the engines. To be honest, I have some really, really stupid blogs concentrating on phrases people search for and they're generating anywhere from .50 to $10 a day after aging for 1 month, NO promoting, only links from a couple PR3-5 sites. If you know what people search for then you can make some serious cash very easily.

With section targetting and categories, i find that you do not need to have a niche site.

If you use the above, even a general blog will go well. Promotion is the key.

BTW if someone can pls offer me suggestions to improve my blog (see site near my username, i will be grateful).

I will write a post about your blog/site in return.
