its weird when someone wants to sell a social networking site with some members in it and he has that site offline.
The reliability fails dramatically.
I was willing to buy as well but i m scared by tactics like this.

the domain is pushed to new buyer and now only he can tell when he will relive the site.... he maybe in processes of installing script on his server...
