    I'm in love with Name.com

I avoid GoDaddy like the plague.

put some domains in godaddy and some in namecheap/network solution so your risk of account/domains loosing
    get minimized

I use Moniker.com as my main registrar, it's cheaper they have an easy interface and great customer service. I'm surprised more people don't use them as they have been around for years. My secondary company is GoDaddy.com, everything is an add on with them which drives me nuts but still a trusted company.

GoDaddy will pay from their pockets and retain your domain name if you decide not to renew it. They put it on auction later. GoDaddy never deletes domains, Namecheap deletes in 60 days.

I have used several domain registrars including namecheap and godaddy. Of the lot, I like godaddy interface and they offer smooth transactions.

    Namecheap.
I feel a little suspicous of GoDaddy. Not entirely sure why.
Plus WHOIS privacy is important to me. Much, much cheaper on namecheap (and free for the first year!).

I suggest godaddy, but if you need another, maybe you should check name.com

Namecheap is much more professional in my opinions. Not to mention faster. I would never use godaddy, but that is just me.

GoDaddy is a legitimate registrar with a real address and real telephone technical support.

NameCheap is a Resell, uses a mailbox drop box (The same as dozens of spam companies) and has NO Telephone support.

Comparing GoDaddy to NameCheap is like comparing Nordstroms to Kmart. Not even in the same class.

NameCheap is for people who don't know any better.

If you need a cheaper alternative to GoDaddy then you want NameSILO... SILO SILO SILO - they are legitimate and also have an actual street address and real telephone number.

Godaddy is horrible. Their CS is a mess, their software is something I had to learn always from zero.

I have stuck 2K in their cashparking (very very bad btw and I even had to pay for it) and it seems I willl never recover the funds, because they want just papers and papers. They can not even move money from cashparking balance to my domain balance.

Yes, their promos are nice. But besides that they are crap.
