    Hi all,

I just want to register a domain name. The preferred one would be dot com or dot net. What are the cost of registering a domain name? Do we generally pay monthly fee for a registered domain or there are annual registration plans as well? Please suggest me.

please go to namecheap.com you will find that the prices are usually from $3 - $10 for domain names and they are paid yearly. Some extensions are expensive (.xxx is around $80 per year)

I have used different registrars before, and i ended up consolidating all my domains with namecheap.com Always search for coupons first as often you will find juicy discounts.

It will not cost you too much. The cost is between US $ 10 to 20 for a year depending upon the type of top level domain you are registering. For e.g .com domain will cost you more than .net or .org domains.

Thanks Stacy for providing some nice information. Godaddy is a good place to register domain names. Additionally, it is also providing rupees option for payment.

Thanks matt for sharing your view too. It is also helpful. Does it have rupees option for payment?

You will pay around $10 for a .com perhaps a bit less if you can find a coupon.

Like other forum members have already mentioned, don't forget to use a .com or .net discount coupon code if you decide to go with GoDaddy. They are a good domain registrar - I'm with them, too. The only thing that I don't like about them is that they force you to buy bunch of additional stuff during your domain order process. So be careful during the registration of your domain.

You pay for domain names yearly. You can register your domain for 1 or more years.

goDaddy may be very popular. But its services has also harassed so many people. I'm not saying its bad, but if you have an option don't forget to give it a try.

    Hi,
I registered my domains at 9cubehosting.com , and the cost of .com and .net is $9.99/year. It costs much less (i.e, $6.00 /yr), if you register a domain and host your website with them. They offered good domain registration service with WHOIS / ID Protection,Domain Locking & EPP Key. Check it out!!And regarding the registration fees, generally they provide annual registration plans!!

No one sell domain in monthly fees. Every registrar sell it atleast per year . For normal TLD domain name, you usually able to grab it below $10 per year .
Is hard to get cheap .com and .net domain recently while it can be said limited because of lot of keywords been taken .

Normal domain fees for one year cost normally cost around USD10-USD15. If you can get any cheaper than USD10 then grab it.
