Hello, So I've finally started off with my idea of making a network I guess you can call it of websites of different things. I've just made my own personal blog on blogger and starting to show it off. But a question came to my mind and it was "How do I get people to come to my blog and always come back?" Since I'm new to this, I came here so I can learn how to get traffic and money from my websites. I'm not sure how to direct people to my blog since it's more of a personal blog and I don't know how people would be interested in that but I know people have done it and I will be posting content alot. So if anyone can tell me how to get people to come and click ads, blah blah blah, for my blog and my future sites, That would be so helpful. Thank you !
People come back because of interest, pure simple. Your direct traffic should eventually out blast your organic traffic. If you're not creating good content or useful content you're not contributing to the web, and thus it's unfair that people will spend their time on your website.
Since ithey'll be personal blogs then you want to get heavy into social media. Facebook, Twitter, etc. You can reach out to people and then direct them to your lastest article or whatever interesting you have new to share. You'll pick up some organic traffic just by posting new content. Some of that traffic will reach out to you on the social networks.
Thank you for the replies ! I will just be having one personal blog talking about some things that are on my mind along with some reviews of things happening in social media and whatnot. The other websites I plan on doing is gaming websites like forums along with reviews, music, and hopefully a social media type website. Of course I'm going to have ads on all these sites for support and whatnot but I also want to know easiest ways to get traffic to these websites. Eventually I want to make all these websites into a network. Like a company for example; I have one website that brings them all together for its easy access, then it branches off to each website I have. I have obviously a twitter and facebook account for personal use. Should I make a facebook page and/or twitter separately for my websites/blogs? Also, Should I use adwords for my blog and/or website? I'm currently using SEO for Blogger, So that should help. If anyone else has any ideas that could help me bring traffic to my website, Please tell me. I'm currently reading up on ideas but it's hard to start off.
Try promoting your sites on craigslist.com, backpage.com and qwikad.com Use the community sections to do that. People are making a living off of the classifieds.
BY THE WAY.... that hover over option where an AdSense ad shows up on your Tumblr blog is not allowed by AdSense Terms of Use.
Oh really? I'm not allowed to have it in the hover area or in general? And thank you! I'll check out those websites and see what I can do with advertising!
Your AdSense ads should not be obstructed by anything at any time. You can't place them on any popup, slide-in, slide-out thing or any drop-down menu.
you need content that people feel interested and helpful,so they come back to you site,you need do some seo work so you have better rank in search engine,so people can come to you site.
It's harder to monetise a personal blog unless you are particularly knowledgeable and/or you manage to consistently provide unique/interesting/funny content.
