Hyphens act as good keyword separator... but algorithms are getting very advance and use of hyphens won’t do wonders for your keyword ranking. So, to me, it really does not matter whether my domain has keyword separator or not.

As per my knowledge i use "-" dash is better.... But if already the pages having "_" underscore with good PR Don't break the existing url structure It will hurt SEO... If you create a new page urls then you should try create with "-" dash....

dashes are always better according to matt cutts when you have dashes in your content like this....

    google-seo-tools

Now the crawler will read it as 3 keywords for one time like this "google" then "seo" and then "tools"

and after this crawler is going to read it again as a single keyword "google seo tools"

so i hope now the point comes to your mind....

    Regards

It is good to use hyphens in URLs as it will define URL in a more clear way for eg: if a keyword use in a URL which is

"software development" then using hyphen will make it more clear "software-development" than using "softwaredevelopment"

so using hyphen is more beneficial from not only crawling point of view but also from the visitors point of view as it

is easy to remember the URL ... :)

Url having (-) hyphen is better than underscore. For Example: a URL that contains "seo_services" will be shown by the search engine only if the user searches for seo_services, but this kind of search is rarely performed; whereas searches for "seo", "services", or "seo services" give your "seo-services" containing URL a better chance of being displayed on the SERPs. So, it is safe to say that this humble graphic sign can help you more than you can imagine, by greatly improving your visibility on the Web.
