CTR stands for Click Through Rate, which is the percentage represnting number of time the ad is clicked by the number of time the ad is displayed CTR = number of clicks / number of exposures

CTR is click-through rate, the ratio of the number of times a user clicks on an online advertisement per number of viewers who view the Web site that has the advertisement on it. For example, if one out of 100 people who visit a specific Web site click on an advertisement and are taken to the advertiser's site, then the CTR of that advertisement is 1/100, or 1%.

The naivety and more the stupidity of this thread is the fact that it was made on a Webmaster Forum which has been around for a while. Does the OP seriously not think a post about CTR has been raised before in more detail than what was provided, or that proper webmasters know this information already?

This is akin to someone going to a Medical forum catering to surgical staff and putting in a post saying "A scalpel is a useful tool to conduct surgery"

Clickthrough rate (CTR) is a way of measuring the success of an online advertising campaign for a particular website. The clickthrough rate of an advertisement is defined as the number of clicks on an ad divided by the number of times the ad is shown (impressions), expressed as a percentage.

For example, if a banner ad is delivered 100 times (100 impressions) and receives one click, then the clickthrough rate for the advertisement would be 1%.

CTR can be used to gauge how well your keywords and ads are performing. CTR is the number of clicks that your ad receives.

CTR means click through rate. It is counted with on the formula, that is total no. of click on your site divided by the total no. of the your url visible in the search engine(that is called impression) into 100.
