You may consider using 64bits version, it's faster than 32 bits.

With the release of Windows 7, Microsoft has made many changes to the Windows operating system. How to make specific programs start as your computer starts and loads Windows 7 is similar to how it was done with previous versions of the Windows operating system. Startup programs are saved in a specific folder on the hard drive. When the operating system loads, links listed in this folder start their respective applications. Changing settings for current startup applications is accomplished through the system configuration tool.

No I am not agreed with this. I like windows 7. I think it's faster than windows xp. I have never used xp. Once I have set up xp to my computer but not continue with xp. I have been using windows since long time and i am happy with this wonderful operating system.

I used to own a computer repair facility. Most of my customers had performance issues with there PC's. Some from viruses, and some from to many isntalled programs that continually run in the background. When installing software, always look to see if a third party application is offered. ie: Google toolbar or any toolbar at that. Toolbars are add-ons to most web browsers and can really slow down your browsing activities if you have too many installed. There are other types of software that, once installed, continually run in the background. This means that even if you exited a program and the windows is closed, that particular program is still running in windows. Some examples of software that continually runs even when closed are as follows. Bonjour, itunes, Apple's quicktime, etc, etc. You can type msconfig in the run menu and keep some of these background applications from starting up when windows starts. Not to worry, you can still use your programs. Windows 7 has a lot more tasks you can complete to keep a stable operating without formatting and reinstalling windows. Memory plays a big role in how your PC reacts. Windows 7 uses way less memory which allows it to boot faster. Another task you can do is defrag your hard drive once a month or once every two months. After using your PC for a long time and installing software on it, Windows places the information for that program wherever there is room. After a while your hard drive becomes fragmented and read/write times can take longer causing delays in loading an application and/or booti time. What defragmenting software does is takes your hard and organizes it kind of like a card catalog in a library. It organizes your hard drive to lessen the time it takes to find an application and loading it.

    exactly my thoughts!

I reckon the people that were born post Win XP are just taking these way better OSs for granted as they didn't go through the horrible experience of having to reformat their systems every week due to the countless malaware and viruses made for XP! haha

    Hello Guys.

Windows 7 might be one of the latest versions of Windows ever released, but it's also got a lot of problems which still affect it in a huge number of ways. One of the most annoying issues to beset this system is the way in which it will not shut down properly in many cases. Fortunately, there's a simple way to fix this issue, which is explained in this tutorial:

Lots of version of Windows have issues which can prevent them from shutting down properly - but there's one problem which is so common that it's most likely the reason why your Windows 7 PC is not able to shut down. The issue could be with the "registry" of your PC.

All your comment for microsoft development are welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

I think after that you can get the real test of win-7.
