Can i achieve rankings by doing only directory and bookmarking

Dear i want to know , can we achieve rankings by doing only directory and bookmarking submissions, because i do not have resources to write content for blog post, article and press releases. If i will not solve the canonical issue then what will happen?

Directory submissions and social bookmarking can help you if it is done on high pr websites (under relevant categories). It all depends how much quality work you are doing.

Regading canonical issue, you will have to resolve this issue other wise search engines will take URL's http://xyz.com/ and http://www.xyz.com/ as two different domains with similar content which will be penalized by search engine in some time. Also if canonical issue is not resiolved then what ever links you are creating for http://www.xyz.com/ will help this domain only and won't be usefull for http://xyz.com/ so to get proper benefit you need to implement 301 redirection to resolve canonical issue.

 

Bookmarking helps you lot rather than that of Directory. Submit to do-follow bookmarking site with high PR.

 

You should use blog commenting on high page rank and dofollow websites and forum posting.

Diverse natural looking links is what you need. Nothing is more suspicious than a portfolio of links that only contain your targeted keywords. Build links wherever but mix it up with more natural looking anchor text too. I throw loads of anchor text that reads "Click Here", "Read This", "This page", "Here" etc as well as just a raw URL and plenty of spelling mistakes too. I even mix up my targeted keywords to make them seem more natural. Get a mix of nofollow & dofollow, link into deeper pages as well as your home page. If it is a less competitive keyword you can rank by doing as u had mentioned.But if it is a high competitive keyword you need to concentrate on more methods.
