So very recently i noticed that my site complete lost its rank in google search for a few of my keywords, a few days later i looked at my backlinks and found that a bunch of links were coming from a few sites that were definitly created with incredibly high keyword density and had a crazy amount of links to my site. It has been about 3 weeks since then and my rank has not come back. I want to know if (1) any of you have had something similar happen and also if you could (2) offer some advice as to what steps i should take to get my site back to where it was before.

    Thanks

have you logged into google webmasters tools to check if they have told you about a penalty?

if it's a penalty, you'll see a notice in your webmaster tools within 4 or 5 weeks most likely

Verify if your website didn't got blacklisted from keywords you are targeting, if that happened and it's not just a penality (time), it we become a real problem and would need a high level SEO work

First make sure you have penalized or not? If yes then request the site administrator to remove such links that are pointing to your site. Once they removed your links you can send a re-inclusion request via Google webmasters.
